Brighton have officially announced the signing of 25-year-old Canadian striker Promise David. The player moved from the Belgian Royal Union Saint-Gilloise on a loan that is calculated for the entire current season and includes a mandatory right of redemption. According to preliminary data, the amount of a full-fledged transfer will be 22 million pounds.
Promise arrived in England with an excellent background, having made 82 appearances since signing for the Union in 2024, scoring 41 goals and providing nine assists. The football player's path to the English Premier League was extremely interesting and geographically wide.
Having started his career in his native Canada, he managed to play in Croatia and the USA, played twice in the Premier League of Malta, after which he loudly announced himself in Estonian Njomme Kalju, from where he moved to Belgium.
At the international level, David also has significant experience: he played in four World Cup matches for Canada (all as a substitute) and even scored a goal in the group stage.
Fans will be able to see the Canadian's new team in action already this week. On Thursday at 20:00, Brighton will play a UEFA Conference League playoff match against Norwegian Tromsø, and on Sunday at 16:00, they will start the new EPL season with an important match against Aston Villa.
