Kharkiv announced on its official website that Ukrainian striker Oleksiy Sidorov is trying to get a transfer certificate to move to a Russian club, despite the current contract with Kharkiv. "On August 18, 2026, the Kharkiv football club received information about the receipt in the FIFA TMS system of a request from the Russian Football Union regarding the issuance of an international transfer certificate for the football player Oleksiy Sidorov for his registration for the Russian club RV Shellendzh as an amateur. We will remind that Oleksiy Sidorov has a valid professional contract with the Kharkiv football club until June 30, 2028, and in 2025 he voluntarily left the club and left Ukraine. After that, representatives of the football club repeatedly requested the player to return to the team and fulfill his contractual obligations. Sidorov ignores these demands until now. The Kharkiv football club categorically condemns such actions of Sidorov and reserves the opportunity to protect its rights and legitimate interests in the manner established by the legislation of Ukraine, the regulations of the UAF and FIFA, and appeals to the UAF with a request to take all possible necessary measures to protect the interests of the club affiliated to the UAF, in connection with the transfer of a football player who has a valid current contract," the club said in a statement.
