Girona continues the bad start of the season in Segunda. In the match of the second round, the Catalan team lost to Córdoba 1:2 away, and Ukrainian striker Vladyslav Vanat again remained on the bench. After the match, Girona head coach Quique Alvarez explained Vanat's absence on the field due to health problems. "Vanat had a slight injury. I already said that those who are physically ready will play. Because of this injury, he did not play," said the coach. For the Ukrainian forward, this is already the second consecutive match of the season without playing time. Goalkeeper Vladyslav Krapyvtsov also spent both matches in reserve. Viktor Tsygankov, who was previously at the center of an internal conflict with the club, was not included in the application for the game against Cordoba. Oleksandr Pishtur, in turn, was left out of the team list in both rounds. After two matches, Girona has three points and is 16th in the Segunda table. The team will play its next game on August 29 at home against Las Palmas.
