Matsenko's extravaganza, Shah's premier ball and Yakuba's long-awaited comeback in the Extra Class

As we wrote in the review of the previous tour, two matches involving four Polish clubs that continue to play in the European Cups have been postponed to September 3. These are the matches Raków - Gurnik and Lech - Jagiellonia. The main part of the fifth round turned out to be a bit too peaceful. Five matches out of seven that were played on time ended in draws. Only the draws turned out to be completely different, in particular by the score. Radomyak and Zaglembe played 0:0, but in this match the teams created more chances than in the match between Korona and Motor, which ended 1:1. In both Kielce and Szczecin, goals were scored only in the first half, only Pogon and Wisla Krakow exchanged goals twice. The hosts took the lead both times, and the guests won back twice. Each team scored one goal after corner kicks. Well, let's note separately that Musa Zhuvara from Pogoni scored in the first half of the half both in other people's goals and in his own. Piast avoided defeat in the match against league leaders Legia in the capital city in the 5th stoppage time, and the difference between the goals in this match was 88 minutes. Actually much more, but more on that below… Of course, the draw in Wrocław stands out, where Widzew led 2:0 and 3:1, but could not hold on to the victory, conceding in the 78th and 89th minutes. It is interesting that from the 7th minute, Vydzev played in the minority after Vishnevbroadcaster's straight red card. Playing at ten, the guests scored three goals. However, they missed just as many... And Shlionsk is a team with oh-so-what a character! Of the seven goals he scored in this championship, four, that is, more than half, came in the last 12 minutes of matches, and three - in the last five! Another match, in which the ending changed everything, was the first Krakow derby of the season. Krakow was losing at home to the newcomer Večišty until the 78th minute, but in the remaining time, it was able not only to equalize the score, but also to win. After this defeat, the third out of one win in four matches, the management of Vecista fired the head coach Kazimierz Moskal, under whose leadership the club made its way to the elite. As you can see, good deeds are quickly forgotten. They write that one of the candidates for the vacant position is the Englishman John Carver, Lechia's ex-trainer. And the vice-president of the club Slavomir Peshko admitted that the forward of the Ukrainian national team Roman Yaremchuk did not object to the transfer to Vechista, but the parties did not agree on financial issues. And only in the match between GKS and Wisla Plotsk, everything was clear long before the final whistle, although in this match a lot of goals were scored at the end. By the 73rd minute, the score was only 2:0. By the way, pay attention to the first goal in this match, which was scored by Norwegian Eman Markovic. In my opinion, this shot was no less beautiful than the one that was recognized as the best goal at the 2026 World Cup. GKS Katowice 1-0 Wisła Płock — Eman Markovic 16' (Ekstraklasa) by u/4gjdtokurwa in soccer And what about ours? Given that the teams of Kochergin, Khlan, Romanchuk postponed the matches, there would be nothing to write about in this traditional column, but... Finally, our Zaglembe defender Roman Yakuba has recovered. The last time Roman went on the field was on March 2, that is, he missed almost half a year. In Radom, he came on as a half-time substitute at left-back and played brilliantly for a player who hadn't played in almost six months. His ratings are 6.9-7.0 and he was one of the best in the away team in the second half. He won all the equestrian events, but although he often made mistakes in his passes (only 10 passes out of 16 were accurate), he regularly tried to sharpen the game. He gave three long passes (two accurate), three diagonal passes (one accurate), four passes in the last third and created one scoring opportunity. Apart from Yakuba, only Yehor Matsenko played from our team - Shlionsk's right central defender out of the three central players. His ratings range quite a bit – 7.2, 7.5, 8.2 – but he was one of the best players in the match in all three versions. He gave the most passes in his team - 88, of which 79 were accurate (almost 90%). 16 passes (also the most) were made by him in the last third! One of them caused a dangerous moment. Scored as many as four shots on goal (also the most in the match), three of which were headers after corner kicks. Two were inaccurate, one was blocked by a defender, but the last shot almost led to Shlionsk's victory. With the score 3:3 in stoppage time, goalkeeper Vidzeva Drongovbroadcasteri (former goalkeeper of Fiorentina and Panathinaikos) pulled out a dead ball. In total, Matsenko won 6 out of seven equestrian events! In addition, Matsenko played excellently in defense. He has two tackles, one interception, six sacks, among others
