Veres held a sensational victory over LNZ for almost seven hours

The "silver" prize-winner of last year's draw of the Ukrainian Premier League, Cherkasy LNZ started the new season with not too bright results. The debut in the European Cup qualifiers did not lead to promotion through the UEFA Conference League, while in the championship, Vitaliy Ponomaryev's team could not even score a single goal against Bukovyna (0:0) and Carpathians (0:3) at the Ukraine Stadium, after which they finally returned home and beat Odessa Chornomorets. And since the Lilacs missed the 1/32 finals of the Cup of Ukraine due to participation in the international arena, they had two weeks to reset before another home game - a match against Rivne Veres in the fourth round of the national championship. And Oleg Shandruk's team approached this confrontation with an equally bleak mood, since the victory in the Cup over Petrovbroadcaster Ingulets (4:1) was preceded by only one goal in the games against Kharkiv (0:1), Dynamo (1:2) and Epicenter (0:0). And so two such teams, which were not very effective in the new campaign, met each other. In such a case, in the realities of our football, it was somehow impossible to expect goals, so no one was surprised that in this game, in the end, it was actually necessary to artificially create an intrigue. Unfortunately, this process took place against the wishes of absolutely all participants. As for the duty of the football players to do this, Kuzyk had the best chance to open the score with his magnificent shot in the third minute from a distance from the right wing, which sent the ball into the post near the opposite nine. Then it seemed that it would be the starting point for something bigger. But already at the 29th minute, we first heard the air alarm signal in Cherkasy, which threw us off track for almost an hour. And when the teams returned to the field, they could not create anything at all, and the first half eventually ended without shots on goal from both sides, and even those shots were only one per team. That is not why we gathered here. In the second half, Ponomaryov's team tried more to correct the situation, but not so much as to really affect the state of affairs on the scoreboard. Although a long shot from Mykytyshyn from the left flank immediately after appearing on the field as a substitute, which was received by Goroh in the ninth, was still worth our attention. However, another alarm went off shortly after that, breaking the game for good. We had to wait two hours for the confrontation to resume, after which we played as many as four revolutions of the second hand, adding another two hours to this waiting time. And so, it's 21:40 on the clock, and no one knows what to do with this match at all. At the same time, the teams insisted that it was necessary to play those damned ten and more minutes, so as not to invent stories about the postponement. And even the deadline was set at 10:45 p.m., but we didn't have to wait long, and almost immediately they gave a break in the region, although on the map of Ukraine it looked like just a discolored spot on the background of red paint. However, they still managed to finish the game. And not just to finish the game, but to give us a sensation as compensation for waiting. Veres immediately ran to earn a corner on the right flank, with which Bahia found Checher's head on the near post, and the latter, in a collision with Ryabov and at the cost of dissection, poked the ball into the goal net. Ponomaryov's team had neither time nor inspiration to answer this, because where did all this come from under such circumstances?
