Arsenal complete €60m signing of Ezri Konsa - insider Make us your Google favourite Arsenal have completed the signing of Aston Villa centre-back Ezri Konsa for an initial fee of €60 million, according to transfer expert insider. Mikel Arteta’s side struck an agreement to sign the England international earlier this week, amid their pursuit of a new defender, and he has now put pen to paper on a four-year contract, with the option for a further 12 months. Konsa has been on Arsenal’s radar for several months and after registering interest in Cristian Romero and Jarell Quansah, the Gunners stepped up their bid to sign him this week and the transfer has now been completed, as per Ornstein . The 28-year-old will join Arsenal for around €60m, plus possible add-ons just shy of €5m, and he is expected to partner Gabriel Magalhaes at the heart of the Gunners’ defence amid William Saliba’s lengthy injury lay-off due to a back problem. Konsa will also provide cover at right-back, where Jurrien Timber is currently absent. It’s reported that Konsa underwent his Arsenal medical on Thursday and the transfer could be formally announced by the club ahead of their opening game of the new Premier League season versus newly-promoted Coventry City on Friday night. Ezri Konsa to join Arsenal Konsa will become Arsenal’s fifth signing of the summer window, after Bruno Guimaraes, Christos Tzolis, Piero Hincapie and Illan Meslier. The Gunners are expected to pursue a new attacker if Gabriel Martinelli departs the club before Deadline Day, amid interest from multiple European clubs, including Galatasaray, Napoli and Juventus. Meanwhile, Konsa will join Morgan Rogers, Youri Tielemans and Lucas Digne in leaving Aston Villa during the 2026 summer transfer window. The England star, who played a key role for Thomas Tuchel’s side at the World Cup, will leave Aston Villa having made 286 appearances across a hugely successful seven-year spell at the club. He joined from Brentford for €13.3m in 2019 and he helped them secure the Europa League trophy earlier this year.
