Arsenal face British record £130m barrier in pursuit of Morgan Rogers

0
Arsenal’s hopes of signing Morgan Rogers this summer have hit a monumental obstacle, with Aston Villa prepared to demand a British transfer record fee to even consider selling the 23-year-old. According to reports, Villa have made it clear they have no intention of parting with the attacker unless an offer in the region of £130m arrives — a sum that would shatter the current domestic record. The Gunners are admirers of Rogers, but such a valuation would test even their spending power. Elsewhere in the market, Chelsea are reportedly willing to let Alejandro Garnacho leave on a permanent basis just one year after his move from Manchester United. Tottenham are ready to test Bournemouth’s resolve with an £85m bid for French forward Eli Junior Kroupi, despite the Cherries insisting the 20-year-old is not for sale. Manchester United’s midfield shortlist has narrowed down to include Wolves’ Joao Gomes, Nico Gonzalez, Boubacar Kamara, Habib Diarra, Yasin Ayari and Jacob Ramsey, alongside Andrey Santos. Brentford have lodged a £19m offer for Trabzonspor midfielder Christ Oulai Inao, while Derby are considering a move for Southampton goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu. On the international front, thunderstorms are forecast to hit Miami as England prepare to face Norway in their World Cup quarter-final on Saturday.
