Vinicius Jr agrees new six-year Real Madrid deal through 2032

Vinicius Jr will not be leaving Real Madrid. The club confirmed on Thursday that the Brazil winger has agreed a new six-year contract with Real Madrid, with his stay at the Bernabeu now set to run until 30 June 2032.
Arsenal had been showing serious interest, and had he rejected Real's terms, the Premier League champions were ready to accelerate their pursuit. Instead, they will now have to target a left-sided forward elsewhere.
The breakthrough came after a difficult negotiation. Real and Vinicius's representatives had spent 18 months working on a new deal, but talks had stalled until Madrid presented a fresh offer on Wednesday. Vinicius was said to be appreciative of the improved terms.
Vinicius marked the occasion with an Instagram post: "Eight years at the Bernabeu are too short... Six more years, and then forever." The club responded with a statement: "Vinicius Jr has become one of the most important players in one of the most successful periods in our history."
Now 26, Vinicius joined Real from Flamengo in 2018 and last signed an extension three years ago. He returned on Monday for his first pre-season training session and medical assessment after featuring for Brazil at the World Cup. His Real record stands at 128 goals in 375 appearances, to which he has added 13 goals in 54 Brazil caps. He has won two Champions League titles, three La Liga titles and one Copa del Rey.
The same day, Real announced the signing of Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig for a fee worth up to £120m (140m euros). Diomande is Real's sixth summer arrival under new head coach Jose Mourinho, following Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, Marc Cucurella and Carlos Espi.
Madrid are also still working on a move for Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri, though Barcelona are ready to compete for his signature.
