Chelsea Get Transfer Boost as Alex Scott Pushes for Move After Bid Rejected
0
Chelsea have received a major boost in their pursuit of Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, with the player making it clear he wants to join the Blues this summer.
Bournemouth rejected an initial offer from Chelsea, but the 22-year-old England international remains determined to leave the Vitality Stadium. The Cherries have insisted Scott is not for sale, yet the player has refused to extend his contract, which runs until 2028.
Scott was offered a new deal back in March, but talks have stalled and the midfielder is now pushing for an exit. Bournemouth have held a hardline stance, but Chelsea are expected to test their resolve with another bid.
Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked, but Scott’s preference is clear: he wants to play for Chelsea. New Blues boss Xabi Alonso is keen on the signing, especially given the uncertainty surrounding some current squad members.
Scott’s desire to move stems partly from his international ambitions. He narrowly missed out on Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 World Cup, though he did train with the team before the tournament. Tuchel sees Scott as a midfielder who can refresh the England setup following their semi-final defeat to Argentina in North America. Scott believes a move to a bigger club will strengthen his case for regular call-ups.
