Chelsea's summer overhaul: 10 deals in the pipeline before July ends

0
Chelsea’s preparations for the 2026-27 campaign are moving fast. The Blues have already offloaded Marc Cucurella and Tyrique George, and Marco Palestra has been officially presented as Xabi Alonso’s first signing – a €57 million arrival from Atalanta. But the west London club is far from done. With no European football next season and a lighter fixture list, Alonso wants to trim the squad and add fresh faces. Several agreements were already in place for Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha, Dastan Satpaev and Denner before the window opened, and those players will join up for pre-season. Below are 10 deals Chelsea could finalise before the end of July. Maxence Lacroix – IN Lacroix has emerged as a top defensive target to partner Levi Colwill. After missing out on Jan Paul van Hecke to Tottenham, Chelsea are pushing to wrap up a deal for the Frenchman, with Como’s Jacobo Ramon considered a backup. Pep Chavarria – IN With Cucurella gone, Jorrel Hato is set to become first-choice left-back. The club now wants a reliable deputy, and Rayo Vallecano’s Pep Chavarria – a 28-year-old who has never played outside Spain – has emerged as a surprise target. Advanced talks are ongoing. Valentin Barco – IN Barco’s move to Chelsea is one of the worst-kept secrets in football. The Argentine has already left Strasbourg and is expected to be officially announced after the World Cup. Andrey Santos – OUT Santos played a bit-part role last season and, with no European fixtures, Chelsea have agreed to sell him to Manchester United for €58 million. A medical is imminent. Filip Jorgensen – OUT Jorgensen has been stuck behind Robert Sanchez and wants regular minutes. Chelsea are open to a permanent sale, with Mike Penders returning from loan at Strasbourg. Axel Disasi – OUT Disasi lost his place under Enzo Maresca and spent last season on loan at West Ham. His value has recovered, and Chelsea are determined to sell him permanently before the new season. Benoit Badiashile – OUT Badiashile showed early promise after joining from Monaco but fell out of favour. He didn’t play a Premier League minute from February onwards and was left out of the matchday squad for the final eight league games. His exit looks inevitable. Trevoh Chalobah – OUT With nine senior centre-backs on the books, Chelsea need to cut numbers. Chalobah is one of the most sellable assets, and Inter Milan and Como are both keen on the England defender, who is ready to move to Serie A. Marc Guiu – OUT With Emegha arriving, the young striker is expected to be allowed to leave, though details of his destination are still emerging.
