Badiashile Agrees Personal Terms With Napoli as Chelsea Prepare Major Clearout
0
Benoit Badiashile has agreed personal terms with Napoli as the Serie A club push to sign the Chelsea defender, according to reports in Italy.
The 25-year-old has emerged as a key target for new Napoli coach Massimiliano Allegri. Talks are ongoing between the clubs over a loan deal with an option to buy, with transfer reporter Nicolo Schira saying an agreement in principle is already in place.
Schira wrote on X that Badiashile and Napoli have reached a deal on a contract until 2031, structured as a one-season loan followed by a four-year contract, with a salary of €2.8M per year. Napoli are reportedly closing in on a loan for the 2026-27 season, with the option to make the move permanent next summer.
Badiashile has played 71 times for Chelsea since joining from AS Monaco in January 2023. But he was left out of the matchday squad for the club's final eight Premier League games of last season and was not included in the pre-season tour of Australia and Asia. Chelsea are keen to move him on before the September 1 transfer deadline, and while Juventus have also been linked, Napoli are now in pole position.
The Blues are bracing for a busy exit window. Trevoh Chalobah is close to joining Como for €30m, while Axel Disasi is expected to join Crystal Palace on an initial loan. After bringing in Morgan Rogers, Maxence Lacroix and Marco Palestra this summer, Chelsea have turned their focus to departures. Filip Jorgensen, Gabriel Slonina, David Datro Fofana, Marc Guiu, and at least one of Nicolas Jackson or Liam Delap are also candidates to leave.
Manchester City have made contact over Pedro Neto, who could be sold alongside Malo Gusto and Enzo Fernandez. Meanwhile, Reggie Walsh, Ryan Kavuma-McQueen, Omari Kellyman, Shumaira Mhueka and Ishe Samuels-Smith are being lined up for loan moves.
