Chelsea Make Moves: Tyrique George Sold, Talks Open for €50m Coulibaly, Chavarria and Araujo Targeted

Chelsea are juggling multiple transfer fronts this summer, with an official sale confirmed and several high-stakes negotiations underway.
Everton have completed the permanent signing of winger Tyrique George for a fee that could reach €28 million. The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Goodison Park, making 11 appearances without a goal or assist. Everton initially let their purchase option lapse but renegotiated terms, agreeing to a 15% sell-on clause to get the deal over the line.
At the back, Chelsea have opened talks with Werder Bremen over 19-year-old centre-back Karim Coulibaly. The teenager impressed in the Bundesliga and is expected to become Bremen’s most expensive sale ever at around €50 million. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen, but reports from Germany suggest Coulibaly dreams of joining PSG.
The Blues are also pushing for left-back reinforcements. Rayo Vallecano’s Pep Chavarria is a target, but the La Liga side are holding out for his €50 million release clause. With one left-back already departed this summer, Rayo are refusing to let Chavarria go without a replacement lined up, which could force Chelsea to wait.
Meanwhile, Sporting CP left-back Maxi Araujo is another option, though his agent has warned that a deal will be tough. “When a player stands out at Sporting, it’s not easy to take him away from there,” Martin Rodriguez Nader told El Espectador Deportes. “Sporting have a lot of money, and they don’t sell cheaply.” Araujo impressed in Portugal and at the World Cup, but Sporting are under no pressure to cash in.
