Man Utd, Celta and Frankfurt lead August 7 official transfer roundup
0
With the 2026 summer transfer window less than a month from closing, clubs across Europe are pushing to get business done. Barcelona is closing in on a deal to sign Rodri from Manchester City, beating Real Madrid to the front of the queue. Madrid, meanwhile, has confirmed Vinicius Junior on a new long-term contract.
The official list of completed moves in Europe's top five leagues on August 7 was brief. The only deal listed in the Premier League was Altay Bayindir's loan from Manchester United to Celta Vigo, which also counted as La Liga's sole incoming transfer of the day. Serie A and Ligue 1 had no completed deals. The Bundesliga recorded one: Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe moved from Eintracht Frankfurt to Schalke for €700,000.
The quiet day on the paperwork front is a contrast to the summer as a whole. Chelsea has unsurprisingly been the biggest spender in world football, with Morgan Rogers, Maxence Lacroix and Marco Palestra among the arrivals at Stamford Bridge. Danny Welbeck, Valentin Barco and Jordan Henderson have also signed in recent days as the club prepares for Xabi Alonso's first season in charge.
Tottenham has invested heavily too. Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes arrived for more than €200m combined, while Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka have also been added to the squad.
Manchester United has added Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, Karl Darlow and Tynan Thompson to bolster Michael Carrick's first-team squad, but missed out on top target Elliot Anderson. The England midfielder joined Manchester City for a club-record €135m, with Enzo Maresca's side also completing deals for Mathys Detourbet, Jeremy Monga and Pierce Charles in the club's first transfer window without Pep Guardiola since January 2016.
Arsenal has signed Christos Tzolis, Piero Hincapie and Illan Meslier and is in advanced negotiations with Newcastle United for Bruno Guimaraes. Liverpool has purchased Jeremy Jacquet, Victor Munoz and Samuel Martinez and is in talks over a possible deal for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Bradley Barcola.
Real Madrid, back under Jose Mourinho, has signed Marc Cucurella, Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, Bernardo Silva and Carlos Espi. Madrid could also still move for City midfielder Rodri. Barcelona has signed Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon for €80m, Borussia Dortmund's Karim Adeyemi for €22m, potentially rising to €29m, and Club Brugge winger Jesse Bisiwu for €8.5m.
Juventus has signed Randal Kolo Muani and Kerim Alajbegovic, Bayern Munich has added Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari, and AC Milan has spent €74m to bring Goncalo Ramos to new manager Ruben Amorim's squad. John Stones signed for Inter Milan on a Bosman deal. PSG, meanwhile, is in advanced talks over Ferran Torres, Mika Godts and Zion Suzuki after already securing Maghnes Akliouche.
