His hard work in training has earned him praise from Niko Kovac, who tested the winger out in pre-season and was rewarded with a goal against Düsseldorf. Francis Onyeka - Elversberg - AM 19 Winner of the U17 Fritz Walter Medal in 2024, Onyeka has joined Bundesliga newcomers Elversberg on loan from Leverkusen, and the left-footed attacking midfielder is seen as one of the best young talents currently on the books of Bayer 04. Niko Iličević - Eintracht Frankfurt - CM 15 Ilicevic won’t play in the Bundesliga in August or September as he isn’t eligible until he turns 16, but returning head coach Adi Hütter enjoyed what he saw from him in pre-season, where the midfield playmaker was more than a match for his much older opponents. Keisuke Gotō - Freiburg - ST 21 Gotō has already scored against a Bundesliga team, netting for Anderlecht in the Europa League against Hoffenheim. Freiburg will be looking to him for goals this season, especially after he told reporters his idol is Harry Kane. He became the second youngest Japanese player to feature at a World Cup this summer. Louis Lemke - Hamburg - LB 16 Lemke is now the youngest goalscorer in Hamburg history after following up a great pre-season with a goal against Verl in the cup. Coaches and team-mates have been impressed by his confidence on the ball, his talent and potential, but, most of all, his work rate. Nathan De Cat - Hoffenheim - CM 18 Hoffenheim have strengthened well with exciting young prospects this summer, including Alessandro Vogt and Mats Rots, but the most intriguing is Belgian midfielder De Cat. He does not have the feline qualities his name would suggest, and is instead a powerhouse in the middle of the park. Reigan Heskey - Köln - LW 18 Köln have Joey Gudjonsson’s son Isak Johannesson on their books, but the most interesting nepobaby is surely Heskey, whose dad is a household name in England.
