UEFA Nations Boycott World Cup Over FIFA Investment Plan

European football associations have formally agreed to boycott the World Cup in response to FIFA's push to sell tournament stakes to private investors. The decision came out of a virtual meeting involving all 55 UEFA member nations, according to sources. Meanwhile, Concacaf-representing 41 nations in North and Central America and the Caribbean-held its own meeting on Thursday and issued a flat rejection of the same proposal. One insider, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the overwhelming sentiment among Concacaf members is that trust in FIFA President Gianni Infantino is either badly shaken or gone entirely.
