Rennes complete Cresswell signing from Toulouse

Rennes have completed the signing of center-back Charlie Cresswell from Ligue 1 rivals Toulouse. The Athletic reported on Saturday that the two clubs had agreed on a deal, and Rennes confirmed the arrival on Tuesday, with Cresswell signing a contract through to 2031. The agreement is structured as a loan with an initial fee of €2.5 million, plus an obligation to buy next summer for a fixed €22.5 million and an additional €3 million in bonuses. Toulouse will also keep a 10 percent sell-on clause. Cresswell joins a Rennes side set to feature in this season's Europa League.
