Sporting signs Ibrahima Ba for €20m from Famalicão

Sporting Lisbon have wrapped up the signing of Ibrahima Ba, the centre-back arriving from Famalicão in a deal worth €20 million plus a 20% sell-on clause. Ba passed his medical today, putting the final touches on a move that almost went elsewhere. He was initially set to join Strasbourg, but that transfer collapsed after he failed their medical. Now he’s set to slot in as the direct replacement for Ousmane Diomande at Sporting, who moved quickly to secure the 21-year-old. All documents are signed, and the deal is official.
