Liverpool target second PSG winger with €40m Ibrahim Mbaye move after Barcola pursuit

0
Liverpool are attempting to raid Paris Saint-Germain twice in one window. Having already made Bradley Barcola a priority, the Reds are now moving for teenage winger Ibrahim Mbaye, with RMC Sport reporting that talks over the Senegal international are expected to begin. PSG want €40m for the 18-year-old, whose estimated transfer value is €32.2m. Mbaye has grown frustrated with the lack of first-team chances at Parc des Princes despite making 42 appearances for the club, contributing four goals and four assists. He has also earned 15 caps for Senegal and is viewed at Liverpool as a potential future star. RMC say Liverpool are preparing to open discussions with Paris Saint-Germain about Mbaye, while the Anfield club continue to follow Barcola closely. The France winger wants a more prominent role and is open to leaving, but PSG are insisting on a €170m fee. Reports from France suggest the two clubs are still far apart, and the deal is not advancing. Should Barcola prove impossible to sign, Liverpool have already weighed up alternatives. Bournemouth's Rayan has been mentioned as a possible option, though the Brazilian's release clause does not become active until next summer, which makes a transfer difficult at this stage. Liverpool believe Mbaye can develop into one of the best wide players in the world. His willingness to take on defenders and handle pressure has impressed the club, and the teenager is said to be keen on joining the Reds. With the transfer window still open, a move for Mbaye looks the stronger possibility as Liverpool try to add more quality in attack.
