Liverpool open talks to hijack PSG move for Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche

Liverpool have made an official enquiry for Monaco attacking midfielder Maghnes Akliouche as they look to hijack Paris Saint-Germain’s pursuit of the France international.
The Reds are serious about reinforcing their attack this summer following Mohamed Salah’s departure on a free transfer. The left-wing position proved problematic last season, with Cody Gakpo struggling and 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha not fully trusted by then-coach Arne Slot. New boss Andoni Iraola is expected to address the issue, and the Basque has admitted the squad needs fresh firepower up front.
RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande remains a priority target for Liverpool, but the winger is leaning towards a move to PSG. However, the Ligue 1 champions have been reluctant to meet Leipzig’s asking price of over €120 million, which has also stalled a potential exit for Bradley Barcola — another key Liverpool target.
Now the Premier League champions have turned their attention to Akliouche. The 24-year-old left-footed right-winger has long been linked with PSG, who have already seen three bids rejected by Monaco. The principality club is holding out for around €50m, while PSG have yet to break the €40m mark, creating an impasse despite the player’s clear desire to join the reigning European champions.
According to information from France, Liverpool have taken advantage of the deadlock by launching an official enquiry to gauge the feasibility of a deal. The report confirms that PSG have made “several” offers but have so far failed to land Akliouche.
The Monaco star has 10 senior caps for France, having chosen Les Bleus over Algeria. He made 43 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring seven goals and providing 11 assists — a profile that makes him a natural heir to Salah’s role on the right flank.
