The German has since doubled down on his desire to keep hold of the Gambia international, saying “at the moment he is a Brighton player”. Speaking to the media on Friday, Hurzeler said of Minteh: “He is a player for Brighton and at the moment there is nothing else to say. However, the 33-year-old head coach reiterated Brighton will always make decisions based on what is best for them. He added: “Of course there are always dreams of players and there are some wishes for players. But in the end we always need to figure what is best for the club and therefore we had an exchange with him. “At the moment he is definitely a Brighton player. The Reds are closing to signing top target Bradley Barcola after agreeing a €140million (£120m) package in principle with Paris Saint-Germain.
