Liverpool issue bold update on Bradley Barcola as position becomes crystal clear Make us your Google favourite Liverpool are growing in confidence that a deal will be struck with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Bradley Barcola , according to sources . The Reds are understood to have made Barcola their top target as they look to strengthen their attack before the transfer window closes next month. sources reported in July that Liverpool were preparing an opening offer for the 23-year-old, who PSG value at an eye-watering €170million (£145.3m). While it is unclear whether an official bid has been made at any point, the same outlet are now claiming Liverpool are optimistic of landing Barcola. The news comes after forward Barcola was left out of the PSG squad ahead of their Ligue 1 opener at Rennes on Sunday. Barcola was also omitted from the PSG travelling party which lost 1-0 at Lens in the French Super Cup last Sunday (16 August). French publication L’Equipe understands PSG do not want to risk the France international suffering an injury which could scupper a potential deal with Liverpool. Barcola faces stiff competition for a place in trophy-laden PSG side Barcola has developed a reputation as one of the best wingers in the world since joining PSG for €45m (£38.4m) in August 2023. Known for his blistering pace, Barcola has won 12 honours with PSG including back-to-back Champions League titles in 2025 and 2026. However, he has struggled to dislodge Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in PSG’s electric front three. PSG have also signed wingers Maghnes Akliouche and Mika Godts this summer, adding further competition for a place in Luis Enrique’s starting XI. Barcola has also received 28 caps for France and represented them at this summer's World Cup, registering three goals and one assist in North America. Liverpool have had two bids rejected for Brighton ace Minteh Liverpool are believed to be prioritising two new wingers before the transfer window closes in England on Tuesday, 1 September. Andoni Iraola’s side have had two offers worth €58m (£50m) and €70m (£60m) rejected by Brighton and Hove Albion for Yankuba Minteh. Unlike the left-sided Barcola, Minteh primarily operates on the right, meaning he could be considered a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah. Salah called time on his legendary nine-year spell with Liverpool at the end of last season, and has since joined Turkish outfit Trabzonspor on a free transfer. Liverpool have so far backed new manager Andoni Iraola with the permanent signing of winger Victor Munoz and the loan acquisition of defender Ronald Araujo. Defender Jeremy Jacquet has also moved to Anfield in a pre-arranged deal that was negotiated before Iraola’s appointment in June. Spaniard Iraola will oversee his first competitive game in charge of Liverpool in Sunday’s trip to Newcastle United in the Premier League.
