Alex Scott Rejects Bournemouth Contract Extension Amid Man Utd, Arsenal, and Chelsea Interest
0
Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has turned down multiple offers to sign a new contract with the club, a decision that is set to intensify transfer interest from several top Premier League sides.
The 22-year-old’s current deal runs until 2028, but Marco Rose’s side had been pushing hard to get him to commit to fresh terms. According to insider, Scott has rejected those approaches and has indicated he has no intention of extending his stay. Bournemouth are reportedly open to including a release clause in any new deal, but the England international has refused to engage.
Scott made 39 appearances across all competitions last season, contributing five goals and assists. Despite an Estimated Transfer Value of €41.9m, Bournemouth have set an asking price of €94m (£80m) for the former Bristol City star.
Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are seen as the frontrunners for his signature. Man Utd, in particular, have identified Scott as a prime target after their move for Atalanta’s Ederson fell through. The Red Devils have already brought in Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans this summer, but manager Michael Carrick wants another midfielder. Scott is considered alongside Manu Kone of AS Roma and Brighton’s Carlos Baleba.
While Bournemouth insist Scott is not for sale, pressure could mount if the player pushes for a move. Scott would add creativity and link-up play in midfield, but the €94m price tag raises questions. With Santos, Tielemans, and Kobbie Mainoo already in the squad, United may be better served by a more defensive option. Kone and Baleba fit that profile, making Scott a luxury signing rather than a necessity.
