Man Utd Transfer Roundup: Baleba 'Pushing Like Crazy,' Adams Back on Radar, Bold Midfield Plan Revealed
1
Manchester United's summer transfer window is heating up with multiple midfield targets emerging, but the club may also decide to stick with what they have.
Carlos Baleba's camp has reopened talks with the Red Devils, according to insider. The Brighton midfielder desperately wanted to join last summer, even pushing 'like crazy' for the move, but the Seagulls blocked the transfer. Since Ruben Amorim's dismissal in January, the trail has gone cold. Romano admits it is unclear whether United will revive their interest in the Cameroon international.
Another name in the frame is Bournemouth's Tyler Adams. The €40 million-rated US international has been loosely linked with United for over a year, and a January switch was mooted before an injury derailed things. Now the club is reassessing Adams as an affordable option. With Champions League football back on the menu, United are prioritising squad depth over a single expensive marquee signing.
United have already sealed deals for Andre Santos and Youri Tielemans, but they want a third midfielder in the Casemiro mould after the Brazilian's departure to Inter Miami. If they cannot find the right player at the right price, the club may abandon the search altogether.
Elsewhere, United are monitoring Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe. The Italian press report that the English forward, who can play on the left, is also attracting interest from Aston Villa, Chelsea, and Everton. Bologna are reluctant to lose Rowe after just one season, but missing out on European qualification could force a sale. The former Norwich City man has made no secret of his desire to return to the Premier League.
