Man United Transfer News: Lewis Hall Targeted, Rashford Urged to Stay, Tielemans Begins

Manchester United have focused most of their summer business on midfield, but the club is also thinking about the left side of defense. According to media, Lewis Hall is one of the full-back options on Michael Carrick's radar. The Red Devils have already signed Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos from Aston Villa and Chelsea, and sources says they remain open to adding a third midfielder. That plan could still be abandoned if United cannot land the right player, though. In that case, a left-back would become a priority. Hall is admired by United, but Newcastle are determined to keep the 21-year-old, who has three years left on his contract. The Magpies are not thought to be willing sellers this summer. Marcus Rashford, meanwhile, has been urged to stay. The England winger wanted to make his loan move to Barcelona permanent, but the Spanish club declined to trigger their €30m (£26m) option. Rashford said his goodbyes to Barcelona on Thursday and is now due to link up with United for pre-season. sports media reporter Mark Ogden believes Rashford's best move is to remain at Old Trafford. "It ultimately comes down to what Marcus Rashford wants because if he is prepared to stay at Man United, I'm pretty sure they would welcome him back," Ogden said. He argued that selling Rashford and trying to replace him would be a risk, especially with the winger coming off a La Liga title and turning 29 in October. There was also a notable first day at work for Youri Tielemans. The Belgium midfielder took part in his first training session with United after completing a five-year move from Aston Villa. United triggered the €41m (£35m) release clause in his contract, and Tielemans has now joined up with his new teammates following Belgium's World Cup campaign.
