Manchester United have been given a clear message over Iliman Ndiaye: Idrissa Gueye is not expecting his team-mate to leave Everton. After Everton posted on X that Ndiaye had reported back for training following his extended break after the World Cup, Gueye replied: "Here to stay." United are weighing up a move for Ndiaye as they look to strengthen their options out wide. The Daily media says the Senegal international is on their radar, with Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League also credited with interest. Everton value Ndiaye at €82m (£70m), according to insider sources. Gueye's attachment to Everton is well known. The 36-year-old left when his contract expired in June, but not before making 236 appearances across two spells and helping the club avoid Premier League relegation in 2022-23 and 2023-24. He and Ndiaye were club team-mates for the last two seasons and have continued playing together for Senegal. Both were in Senegal's squad for this summer's World Cup, where the national team reached the knockout stage. Their tournament ended in a 3-2 round-of-32 loss to Belgium after they had led by two goals. Senegal have since dismissed head coach Pape Thiaw. United are still shaping their squad ahead of Michael Carrick's first full season in charge. Carrick was appointed permanently in May after replacing Ruben Amorim in January and guiding the club to a third-place Premier League finish plus Champions League qualification in 2025-26. United have already signed Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow this summer. sources reports they want another central midfielder, a back-up striker, a left-back and a left winger, with Ndiaye among the names under consideration.
