Rangers Enter the Race for Brighton Winger Cozier-Duberry

Rangers have joined the chase for Brighton & Hove Albion winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, a 21-year-old who spent last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers and impressed heavily. The former Arsenal academy product left the Emirates on a free transfer in 2024 to join Brighton, but his future on the south coast is far from certain. Belgian side Anderlecht had a bid of just under €6 million knocked back by the Seagulls, according to insider sources, and now the Scottish giants are ready to compete with Bundesliga club Augsburg and Ligue 1 outfit Paris FC for his signature. Brighton remain keen to keep the winger and are believed to be in ongoing contract talks – his current deal runs until 2028. Whether Cozier-Duberry puts pen to paper on fresh terms or pushes for an exit remains to be seen. Rangers are monitoring the situation closely and could make a move this summer after Mikey Moore’s loan from Tottenham Hotspur ended. Cozier-Duberry delivered nine goals and 13 assists in 37 appearances as Bolton earned promotion from League One last season. He has previously drawn comparisons to Arsenal star Bukayo Saka. Luton Town boss Jack Wilshere, who coached him in the Arsenal youth setup, said: "Amario is very exciting and Mikel likes him. He reminds me of Bukayo Saka, plays in the same position as him, needs to get better with his decision-making like Bukayo did, but he’s definitely exciting. In some moments, he’s unplayable. You give him the ball and he can make things happen." Rangers have already added Ivor Pandur, Ross McCrorie, Dan Neil, Lawrence Shankland, Cammy Devil and Ben Godfrey (on loan) this window, with negotiations also advanced for Jens Hjerto-Dahl and Vanja Dragojevic. Meanwhile, Celtic have only brought in Camilo Duran so far and have indicated further arrivals will be limited.
