Rangers Transfer Target Jens Hjerto-Dahl Reveals He Prefers Ibrox Move Over Besiktas

Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl has publicly stated his desire to join Rangers this summer, even as Turkish side Besiktas continue to monitor his situation.
The 20-year-old Norway U21 international scored his sixth goal in 13 Eliteserien appearances this season in Tromso’s 4-0 win over Valerenga on Saturday. Shortly after the match, he made clear where his heart lies.
“I still prefer Rangers over Besiktas, but I am prepared for the fact that it could take a long time before a move to a new club is finalised,” Hjerto-Dahl said.
Rangers have already tested the waters with a €6.2 million bid, but Tromso rejected that offer. Reports in Norway suggest the Scottish giants may need to raise their bid to around €10 million to secure the midfielder’s signature. Hjerto-Dahl still has three years left on his current contract, but he is pushing for an exit before the window closes.
Rangers boss Derek McInnes, who took over from Danny Rohl in June, is also eyeing Partizan Belgrade’s Vanja Dragojevic as he looks to strengthen his midfield options. But Hjerto-Dahl remains a priority.
McInnes has already overseen a busy window. Arrivals include Ivor Pandur, Ross McCrorie, Dan Neil, Lawrence Shankland, Cammy Devlin, and Ben Godfrey on loan. Meanwhile, Jack Butland was sold to Hull City, Ben Davies and James Tavernier left as free agents, and Bailey Rice went on loan to Kilmarnock.
The coming weeks could see further movement, with Hjerto-Dahl’s public comments likely to accelerate negotiations.
