The summer transfer window is almost over and several high-profile players are still yet to finalise a move away, with just two weeks until Deadline Day.
The biggest clubs in Europe have unsurprisingly been extremely active in the market so far this summer and a host of agreements have been reached in recent days, with a number of blockbuster deals expected to be announced shortly.
Below, sources runs through five transfers that are set to be completed before the end of this week.
Bradley Barcola to Liverpool
Liverpool have not yet reached an agreement to sign Bradley Barcola , but a move for the Paris Saint-Germain attacker appears highly likely after he was excluded from their matchday squad to face RC Lens in the French Super Cup final on Sunday.
The France international wants to join Andoni Iraola’s side and while PSG’s steep asking price of €170 million remains a major obstacle, Liverpool are confident that a deal will be struck.
Barcola is set to be deployed as Liverpool’s new first-choice left winger if he arrives, with Cody Gakpo potentially set to be sold, and transfer talks are expected to ramp up this week ahead of the Reds’ first game of the new Premier League season.
Rodri to Barcelona
Barcelona have reached a full agreement to sign Manchester City midfielder Rodri for an initial fee of €60m, plus a further €16.5m in potential add-ons.
The Spain star had been on Real Madrid’s radar earlier this summer, but Barca soon swooped in and after finalising personal terms with the 30-year-old, they agreed a transfer fee with Man City on Sunday.
Rodri is set to travel to Barcelona shortly in order to undergo a medical and formally complete the move.
Ayyoub Bouaddi to Man City
With Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders both on the verge of leaving the club, Man City are edging closer to finalising a €100m deal for Lille starlet Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Personal terms have already been agreed with the Morocco international and with Enzo Maresca keen for new signings to arrive as soon as possible, it’s likely that talks between the clubs will reach a positive conclusion shortly.
Man City may also sign Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea , although they missed a deadline of 14 August to finalise a €140m transfer and the deal remains in doubt as a result.
Benoit Badiashile to Napoli
Chelsea have struck an agreement to send Benoit Badiashile on loan to Napoli for the duration of the 2026-27 season, with an option to buy on a permanent deal next summer.
The Frenchman was excluded from Chelsea’s matchday squad in each of their final eight Premier League games of last term and after being omitted from their pre-season tour squad, he is now on the verge of leaving the club.
The Blues were initially eager to sanction a permanent sale, but they have accepted Napoli’s loan proposal in order to shift Badiashile off their books for the season.
Zion Suzuki to Aston Villa
Zion Suzuki had looked set to join PSG this summer, before completing a loan move to Juventus, but the transfer has collapsed and this has enabled Aston Villa to pounce.
Unai Emery’s side have agreed a €35m deal with Parma and the Japan goalkeeper will soon be unveiled as their latest summer signing amid serious questions over Emiliano Martinez’s future at the club.
Suzuki will sign a five-year contract at Villa Park and it’s expected that his arrival will be officially announced before their first game of the new Premier League season.
