Transfer Roundup: Chelsea closing in on Chalobah deal as Watkins saga intensifies

0
Chelsea are set for crunch talks with Como on Saturday over Trevoh Chalobah, with the Serie A club's latest offer of €25m plus €5m in add-ons still falling short of the Blues' demands. Representatives from both sides will meet today to bridge the gap, as Como push to secure the defender without blowing their budget after splashing out on Nico Paz earlier this summer. Chelsea insist on a guaranteed €30m upfront. Meanwhile, Ollie Watkins finds himself at the centre of a three-way battle. Aston Villa have already rejected Fenerbahce's advances after making it clear that €35m won't be enough, and now Arsenal and Manchester United are monitoring the England striker's situation closely. With only two years left on his contract, Villa face a tricky decision. Real Madrid are growing increasingly confident about landing Rodri from Manchester City. The La Liga giants are working on a deal for the Spanish midfielder, though no direct club-to-club talks have taken place yet. Rodri is keen on a return to his hometown for personal and sporting reasons, and his City contract expires next summer. In other news, Chelsea are also in active discussions with Bayer Leverkusen over Kerim Alajbegovic, but no bid has been submitted yet. The Blues hope to negotiate a fee below the €40m asking price for the Bosnia and Herzegovina teenager, who is also attracting interest from Serie A. Michael Olise is not expected to force a move from Bayern Munich this summer, though Real Madrid would be his preferred destination if he does leave. The winger is fully committed to Bayern but has an eye on a future move to La Liga or PSG. Elsewhere, Carlos Baleba's camp have opened talks with Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid made enquiries about Jon Martin before he extended his Real Sociedad contract, Newcastle have rejected an improved €82m bid from Arsenal for Bruno Guimaraes, and Hull are in advanced talks for Burnley's Florentino Luis. Leeds are eyeing Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirovic, while Stade Reims want €25m for Keito Nakamura. Newcastle and Nottingham Forest are monitoring Rayo Vallecano right-back Andrei Ratiu.
