Monza signs Benfica forward Gustavo Varela

Monza have completed the signing of Portuguese striker Gustavo Varela from Benfica, the Serie A club announced on their official channels. The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract that runs through the summer of 2030. The transfer fee is set at €2 million. Last season, Varela was on loan at Gil Vicente, where he made 33 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing three assists. In separate news, Monza also recently confirmed the appointment of Ivan Juric as their new head coach.
