Dynamo Kyiv's Europa League campaign ends: Player ratings from PAOK tie

After the first leg, the tie was effectively decided, so the return game was never going to be a shock. Dynamo Kyiv's attempt to reach the UEFA Europa League is over, and it ended with a pretty timid display - the kind that had already forced the club to postpone a league match. It looks like they will have to do the same with the Kolos fixture in a few weeks, when Dynamo fly to Baku to face Qarabag. The two games against PAOK told the real story: even against a team that is basically the entry point to the current Europa League, Ihor Kostyuk's side were not competitive. Here are Dynamo's player ratings from the game at Toumba, on a 10-point scale. Vyacheslav Surkis - 4.5. Under normal circumstances, this would not have been his European debut at all, but Neshcheret's discomfort kept the first-choice keeper out. It is hard to imagine anyone stopping those finishes. When shots did reach Surkis, he was reliable. Oleksiy Sych - 4.5. A debut right after his transfer, so no one expected a breakthrough. Taison was quiet too, but Sych's real troubles started when Konstantelias drifted into his zone. Then again, did anyone in this Dynamo side manage to handle Konstantelias over the two games? Tomasz Kędziora - 5.0, Aliu Tiaré - 4.0. The center back pairing never looked safe. Both goals came from the central area in front of the box, with defenders dropping too deep and holding midfielders not closing down. Tiaré lost too many duels. Combined rating: 4.5. Taras Mykhavko - 4.5. This is how stretched Dynamo's squad is: a center back was sent to left back even though the team needed to attack. Mykhavko was fairly consistent with long passes out of defense, but when it came to overlapping and creating width, both flanks went quiet. Volodymyr Brazhko - 4.0. The midfield line fell apart twice in the goals Dynamo conceded. Brazhko did fire more shots than anyone on his team, but the only thing he will remember is hitting the post. Justin Lonwijk - 4.0. He had looked more interesting as a rotation option earlier. This time it was a workmanlike midfield shift full of duels and nothing else. Nazar Voloshyn - 4.0. Gave Dynamo nothing useful in 67 minutes. Vitalii Buialskyi - 4.0. So much of Dynamo's attacking hope rests on the captain, but he touched the ball once in the opponent's box and played one dangerous pass into it. Bohdan Redushko - 4.5. His ability to attack the far post on crosses is real, but his shots did not carry enough threat. When the game slowed down, he had no answer from a stationary position. Matvii Ponomarenko - 4.0. Three shots, three off target. The PAOK center backs dealt with him easily, and his only mark on the match was a yellow card for a rough challenge. The same Konstantelias offered a reminder of what a €30m-plus prospect looks like. Mykola Shaparenko - 4.0. He got almost 30 minutes, picked up a yellow, and tried a couple of sharp passes into the box, but the game was already beyond saving. Andrii Yarmolenko - 4.0. The veteran was thrown on in the final minutes, but there was nothing left to rescue and he did not add any spark. Vladyslav Kabaev, Kristian Bilovar, Pierre Moungege - late substitute appearances. The only one worth noting was the debut of the PSG academy product, who at least got some idea of where he has landed.
