Inter Step Up Chase for Curtis Jones but Liverpool Refuse to Lower €40m Asking Price
0
Inter Milan have renewed their push to sign Curtis Jones, with the Serie A side making an improved offer for the Liverpool midfielder.
After an opening bid of €32m fell short, Inter have now indicated - via intermediaries - that they are ready to go as high as €35m, according to The Athletic.
Liverpool, however, are not bending. The club value the 24-year-old at a minimum of €40m and have made clear they will not accept anything less.
Jones's current contract runs for another season. Despite that, Liverpool are willing to gamble by keeping hold of the midfielder until his deal expires in 2027 rather than accept a cut-price sale.
There are no active negotiations over a new contract at this stage, though Liverpool have not closed the door on returning to that topic if they can find common ground with the player.
