Fiorentina sign Real Madrid defender Víctor Valdepeñas

Fiorentina have officially confirmed the signing of Víctor Valdepeñas from Real Madrid, with the Florentine club announcing the move on its website. Marca reports that the Italian side will pay €8m for the 19-year-old Spaniard, while Real Madrid are also entitled to 50% of any future sale. Valdepeñas has signed a contract with Fiorentina until the end of June 2031. In the 2025/26 season, Valdepeñas won the UEFA Youth League (U-19), scoring one goal in four appearances. He made his debut for Real Madrid's first team in December 2025. He also registered three goals and one assist in 46 games for Real Madrid Castilla. The defender is comfortable at centre-back or on the left, and becomes Fiorentina's sixth signing of the summer after Alex Jiménez, Radu Drăgușin (both on loan), Christ Inao Oulaï, Arthur Atta and Vieri. The club has also completed permanent deals for previously loaned players Giovanni Fabbian and Marco Brescianini.
