Douglas Luiz wants to stay at Juventus: 'They are giving me another chance'

Douglas Luiz wants another shot at Juventus. The 28-year-old Brazilian returned to the club for preseason after loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa, and he has made clear he is not looking to leave again. Juventus paid Aston Villa €51.5 million for him in the summer of 2024. The loan moves brought Juventus around €5 million of the original transfer fee back, but Villa did not buy the midfielder, so he returned to Turin. Luiz played 34 games last season, scoring once and assisting twice. He is now hoping to force his way into Juventus' starting team. "I want to stay at Juventus this summer. They are giving me another chance, and this is exactly what I wanted," Luiz said. He has 27 appearances for Juventus so far.
