Celje bring Benjamin Verbič home: former Dynamo Kyiv winger signs until 2030

Celje has announced the signing of Benjamin Verbič, bringing the former Dynamo Kyiv winger back to the club where his career began. The 32-year-old Slovenian has agreed to a contract that runs through the summer of 2030. He arrives from Levadiakos, where he scored five goals and added three assists in 24 appearances. Verbič previously spent four years at Dynamo Kyiv, joining in the winter of 2018 and leaving in February 2022. In that time, he made 121 appearances, scoring 37 goals and registering 12 assists. Born in Celje, Verbič took his first steps in his career at the club. He now returns home to a side that won the Slovenian title last season, beat Egnatia in the second qualifying round of the Champions League, and will take on Ararat-Armenia in the third round.
