Brentford smash transfer record with Mamadou Sangare signing

0
Brentford have made Mamadou Sangare the most expensive signing in their history. The club has officially completed a deal with French side Lens for the Mali midfielder, with Fabrizio Romano reporting the transfer. The fee is £41 million, a club-record outlay for Brentford. Sangare has signed a contract that runs through June 2031, with the option of a further season until summer 2032. The 24-year-old joined Lens in 2024 and quickly became a key presence in midfield. His performances attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, but Brentford moved first and secured the deal. In 33 appearances, Sangare scored 3 goals and registered 4 assists.
