Bayer Leverkusen are closing in on a significant addition to their back line. According to Fabrizio Romano, the club have agreed a permanent deal with Napoli for left-back Miguel Gutiérrez. The fee is set at €30m, with the 25-year-old Spanish defender expected to sign a contract until the summer of 2031.
Gutiérrez made 34 appearances at club level last season, scoring once and providing one assist. Leverkusen see him as the natural replacement for Alejandro Grimaldo on the left side of defence.
Grimaldo was a key figure in the team's setup, so the club have moved quickly to bring in Gutiérrez and fill that role.
