Arsenal was ready to pay over €100m for João Pedro, but Chelsea expects him to stay

Arsenal had João Pedro on its radar and was ready to pay more than €100 million to sign him, according to Globo. The 24-year-old Brazilian forward caught the Gunners' attention with a strong debut season at Chelsea. A transfer looks unlikely at this point, though, as João Pedro is expected to sign a new long-term contract with Chelsea soon. Chelsea wants to keep one of its key players. Last season, the Brazilian scored 20 goals and recorded five assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.
