Ajax confirm loan signing of Barcelona great Marc-André ter Stegen

Ajax have officially announced the signing of Marc-André ter Stegen. The 34-year-old German goalkeeper joins on loan from Barcelona and will remain with the Amsterdam club until the end of the season. Ter Stegen is a true Barcelona great. He arrived at Camp Nou in May 2014, when the Catalans paid Borussia Mönchengladbach €12 million for his services. Since then, he has made 423 official appearances and won 21 trophies with the club. The 2025/26 campaign was a busy one for the veteran. He spent most of it at Barcelona, helping the team to another La Liga title. In the winter of 2026, he also completed a short loan move to Girona, playing twice before returning to Barcelona. Now the German goalkeeper is ready for a new challenge in the Eredivisie as he prepares to line up for Ajax.
