Colo-Colo signs Cape Verde World Cup hero Vozinha

Chilean club Colo-Colo has officially added Cape Verde international goalkeeper Vozinha. The 40-year-old arrives as a free agent. No financial terms were announced. The deal is believed to run through the end of 2026 and includes an option for one more season. Moroccan club Renaissance Berkane had also shown interest in Vozinha. During his career, the goalkeeper has played in Cape Verde, Portugal, Moldova, Cyprus and Slovakia, with stops at Progresso, Zimbru, Gil Vicente, AEL Limassol, Trenčín and Chaves. Vozinha became a global name at the 2026 World Cup, where Cape Verde surprisingly reached the round of 32 and gave then-reigning champion Argentina a real scare before losing 2-3. His Instagram following has jumped from around 40,000 before the tournament to more than 29.5 million.
