Liverpool eye PSG teenager Ibrahim Mbaye as Barcola alternative comes at a price

0
Liverpool are still searching for attacking reinforcements out wide, and their latest look goes back to Paris Saint-Germain. After the prospect of signing Bradley Barcola left supporters worried about the financial scale of the deal, the Reds have turned their attention to 18-year-old Ibrahim Mbaye. Mbaye played for Senegal at the 2026 World Cup this summer, and that platform has already brought him onto the radar of Chelsea, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Manchester City. But any move for the teenager looks complicated, with concerns mounting over those around him and the demands being made. According to reports, Mbaye's list of contract requests includes funding for several family projects in Senegal - a hospital, an academy and a football club - alongside investment companies, startups in France, trucks and maritime shipping operations. PSG have also been asked for a private family box at Parc des Princes, a Mercedes Viano, offices in Paris and an annual operating budget covering travel and general expenses. On top of that, there are requests for 50% of agent commissions and 50% of the player's image rights. PSG, for their part, are far from happy with the player's discipline. The club have concerns about his weight and diet, and repeated late arrivals for training have seen him slip down the pecking order. Paris are also frustrated with Mbaye's entourage, with his father blamed for ongoing media leaks. Mbaye recorded three goals and two assists in 31 appearances last season.
