Berat Djimsiti leaves Atalanta for Al-Diriyah after a decade

Berat Djimsiti's long association with Atalanta is over. The Albanian centre-back is heading to the Middle East after the Bergamo club agreed to cut his contract short by a year. The 33-year-old spent the core of his career in Bergamo, but it wasn't always smooth. Early on, he had to go out on loan to Avellino and Benevento to find playing time before establishing himself at the Goddess. Now Djimsiti is joining Al-Diriyah. The Saudi club, recently promoted to the country's top flight, has offered the defender a two-year contract. Atalanta will receive €3m for the transfer. Djimsiti leaves Atalanta with 334 appearances, 11 goals and 10 assists to his name. Last season, he featured 47 times and scored once.
