Hull City breaks transfer record with £20m signing of Konstantinos Tzolakis

0
Hull City has completed a club-record transfer by signing goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis from Olympiacos. The 23-year-old Greece international has agreed to a five-year contract. Neither side has confirmed the financial details, but the move is understood to be worth around £20 million, with bonuses potentially pushing the total higher. That makes Tzolakis the most expensive signing in Hull's history, surpassing the record set in 2016, when the Tigers paid Tottenham £13 million for Ryan Mason. Tzolakis spent his entire senior career at Olympiacos. He made his first-team debut in 2020 and has since made 131 appearances, winning eight trophies, including four Greek Super League titles and the 2023-24 UEFA Conference League. About a month after that European success, he earned his first Greece cap against Malta and has since been capped nine times. The goalkeeper says he is ready for the next chapter and eager to prove himself in England. He described the Premier League as the highest level and promised to give everything in training to help his new team reach its objectives. Hull has also lined up a Japanese international from Sporting, as previously reported.
