Real Madrid and RB Leipzig agree monumental Diomande deal
0
Real Madrid and RB Leipzig have reached a breakthrough in negotiations for Yan Diomande, pushing the transfer to its final stage. Despite recent talk that the move could collapse, the two clubs have settled the key terms and are now just working through the remaining paperwork before making an official announcement.
According to Florian Plettenberg, the financial package is enormous. Real will pay €125 million up front, with bonuses pushing the total to €140 million. That would make Diomande the most expensive signing in Real Madrid's history, exceeding the fees paid for Ronaldo, Bale and Bellingham.
The deal also has a second beneficiary. Leganés, who kept a sell-on clause when the winger left Spain, are set to receive around five percent of the profit from the transfer.
The Ivory Coast international is coming off a superb season, recording 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances for the Bundesliga side. He has also contributed one assist in four matches at this year's World Cup.
An official announcement is expected shortly, once the final documents are signed.
