Barcelona keep Álvarez at top of striker list after Osimhen offer

Barcelona have been offered the chance to sign Victor Osimhen, but the Nigerian is not the attacker they want to prioritise. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Galatasaray forward was offered to several clubs this summer, including Barcelona, Arsenal and Tottenham. The Catalan side are looking for a central striker after Robert Lewandowski's departure and with Ferran Torres' future unresolved as PSG show interest. Julián Álvarez, though, remains the priority. Atlético Madrid have repeatedly insisted they will not sell the Argentine, but Barcelona have not stopped trying to make the move happen. Osimhen, on the other hand, looks a difficult deal to complete. His wage demands are said to be around €15 million per season, which would not fit Barcelona's salary structure. There are also concerns at the club about how he would settle into the dressing room. The same report adds that Osimhen was offered to Atlético as a possible replacement for Álvarez, but the Madrid side rejected that idea and again made clear their striker is not for sale. Meanwhile, Barcelona sporting director Deco and head of scouting João Amaral are reported to be in Madrid for talks with Álvarez's agent.
