RB Leipzig strike deal for Hoffenheim breakout star Asllani
0
Fisnik Asllani was one of the Bundesliga's biggest talking points last season. The 23-year-old Kosovo forward piled up 11 goals and eight assists in 35 appearances for Hoffenheim, and it became clear early in the summer that the club would struggle to keep him. Now RB Leipzig have emerged as the destination.
Reports say terms have been agreed with both Hoffenheim and the player. The package is worth €25 million up front plus another €5 million in bonuses. Asllani is scheduled to undergo his medical on August 6 before signing a contract that runs through 2031.
Leipzig, though, are already thinking ahead. The deal includes a €75 million release clause that will be active between June 1 and June 15, 2027, and only for UEFA Champions League clubs. That is a clear sign the Red Bulls see this as more than just a squad upgrade - they are protecting their investment, too.
