Diogo Costa to Chelsea Off the Table

Chelsea will not be signing Diogo Costa. Sources indicate the London club is content with its current goalkeeping options and has made no transfer inquiry for the Porto shot-stopper. The 26-year-old is under contract with Porto until the summer of 2030. He made 49 appearances in all competitions during the 2025/26 season, keeping 26 clean sheets, and has already featured once in the new campaign - the 1-0 Portuguese Super Cup win over Torreense. Chelsea, meanwhile, ended last season 10th in the Premier League and missed out on European football. Xabi Alonso's side opens the new league season on August 24 against Fulham.
