Rodri agrees personal terms with Barcelona, but City hold the key to transfer

Barcelona have taken a significant step towards one of the biggest transfers of the summer. According to journalist Matteo Moretto, Rodri has already reached an agreement with the Catalan club over personal terms, and the Manchester City midfielder is said to have settled every detail of his future contract. The hardest part is still ahead, though. Barcelona will now have to open formal negotiations with City and find common ground on the fee, which is expected to be in the region of €60 million. The reigning Ballon d'Or winner made 33 club appearances last season and scored two goals. At the 2026 World Cup, he played every game for Spain, became a world champion and was named the tournament's best player. Rodri underwent surgery on his back at the end of July.
