Roma one step away from new Pellegrini contract

0
Roma are closing in on a new deal with captain Lorenzo Pellegrini. According to Fabrizio Romano, the two parties have reached a verbal agreement on terms that would keep the midfielder at the club until the summer of 2027. The renewal is still waiting on final legal checks before it can be announced. Pellegrini's current contract was due to expire on 30 June 2026, so the club moved early to secure their skipper. The 30-year-old came through Roma's academy, featured for the first team, left in 2015 and then returned to the Italian capital in 2017. Since coming back, he has made 349 appearances across all competitions and scored 62 goals, establishing himself as one of the team's key figures and its captain.
