São Paulo settles Lazio debt for Marcos Antonio as FIFA ban set to be lifted
0
São Paulo have settled the outstanding debt to Lazio from the Marcos Antonio transfer. The Brazilian club paid 7 million reais (€961,000) this week, a sum that formed part of the €4.2 million deal.
The club then asked FIFA to lift the registration ban, which currently blocks new signings. São Paulo hope to welcome Domingos Duarte and Iago Bordushi once the embargo is removed, with the ban expected to be lifted before the weekend.
Antonio was at Shakhtar Donetsk from 2019 to 2022, recording 98 appearances, nine goals and five assists. In the Brazilian championship, São Paulo sit 12th with 26 points from 20 matches.
